Dear friend;
I am in possession of a copy of a letter by a mathematician
Reuben Gurevic who is in the Soviet Union and is a Refusednik.
He asks us to help him to emigrate - "by any means you have in
your disposition." His latest text is "Equational theory of po-
sitive numbers with exponentiation is decidable." Because of his
application to emigrate, he has lost his job and has had diffi-
culties getting his work out of the U.S.S.R.
Both to help him keep up with his work and to make it clear
to the Soviet Authorities that we know about him, please put him
on your mailing lists to receive any and all papers you and your
colleagues have written especially in his area. Please pass this
notice on to others who may not be connected to any bboard. I
suggest that all stuff be sent registered with return receipt to
make it harder for the Soviet authorities to not deliver the ma-
terial.
