I saw in Bos. Globe today that Boeing charged US $1118 for each of
several little plastic caps that fit over the bottoms of the navigation
stool in AWACS planes. Those things you get 4 for a dollar at Woolies?
Seems our ever-alert cost-cutters noticed this because it represented
a $200 price hike over what they had already paid. Boeing sez each one
of these little plastic gizmos is worth $1K because of setup costs.
I guess they are mil. spec. too, and I would be the LAST one to show
yellow to the Russkies by undermining our sacred national defense effort,
but
