A letter to the editor of the Jerusalem Post, appeared on May 10, 1983.

Closer to 1984
==============

To the Editor of The Jerusalem Post:

Sir, -- I would like to bring to the attention of your readers the latest
unofficial tactic used by the army in dealing with soldiers who, by reason
of conscience, refuse to serve in Lebanon. Before being tried and sent to
prison, many soldiers are now obliged to visit the army psychiatrist in
order to establish their sanity. Knowledge of this amazing fact was given
to me by such a doctor who had "treated" some of them, unsuccessfully of
course.

We are now just one step closer to 1984.

Incidentally, the medical officer mentioned above has himself just now
become a "refusenik."
