I may have to run from all the flaming responses, but I agree with Larry Cipriani. Taking 'the financially painless' away from people is the quickest way to change their behavior. What about the fresh-out-of-high-school housewife who marries, has several kids, and has her sole means of support killed in a construction accident? What about the woman who can't get an abortion on Medicaid, can't afford to pay for one herself, and certainly can't afford to raise the child? I guess this is the sort of thing that happens when "macho men" "discuss" women's problems. (Yes, I know this is "society's problem," but many points concern issues of particular interest to women.)
