We often here the phrase "American Imperialism" bantered about by goverments, revolutionaries, etc. How about Libyan Imperialism? Is not Khadafy intervening in Chad, sending hit squads abroad, and other not-so-friendly types of ventures. Why do the nations which so often accuse the US of covert actions now stand silent? No UN resolution to denounce Libya? Is it that they are simply afraid of Libya? Or does no one care enough about Chad to do (say) anything-except of course the US, France, and Zaire. Why is Libyan aggression treated differently than US agression? Or Israeli Agression? (I seem to remember the Arab world having a major public heart attack when the Israelis invaded Lebanon a year ago.) Alternatively, has the Khadafy stiuation been blown out of proportion? Has the press created the image of Khadafy as the madman? Any one else with comments, I would like to see them. It is no surprise that a superpower like the United States is subjected to a lot more criticism than a country the size of Libya. The U. S. acts and the effects ripple around the world. Libya has not succeeded in frightenning very many people yet. I under- stand that Libya's other neighbors are not happy with the situation, but Libya doesn't have enough neighbors to push a resolution through the U. N. Kenneth Almquist
