I agree with swatt on the problems of giving government too much power. This is the real problem confronting us. I have no false notions concerning the treatment that Mormons would recieve from an entirely "Christian" state regardless of how christian the views of Mormonism. I will say that quite often I see people beating up against a straw man on both sides of the issue of Conservative vs Liberal or any such dichotomy presented for analysis. It may be that analysis cannot continue unless some abstraction from the real world is made. An important thing to keep in mind when making such arguments is that not all of the simplifying assumptions can be applied to real situations at once. Tom Slack ittvax!wxlvax!slack
