It is illegal to force others to pray in school or to have an organized prayer which could lead to the humilation of a few due to the religious intolerance of the majority. And while I can postulate that the world was created by a case of cosmic intestinal gas, this does not lead us to the conculsion that we should all teach our children that god said "let there pepto bismol" and the world was created. Evolutionary theory, both cosmological and genetic, represent the most debated and analyized theories of each to date. Thus, they reserve the right to be taught. To dismiss them as "only a theory" belies the fact that your education failed to educate you. A laymans concept of a theory and the theorticians concept of the same are entirely different. This was made painfully obvious in the recent court cases in Alabama.
