Our local Independent TV Station in Rochester (WUHF - Channel 31) is heralding a multi-part movie "SADAT" which it will broadcast in the month of November. I have heard many rumors concerning this production - it had to be filmed in Mexico for political reasons (was it?), the selection of Louis Gossett Jr. as Anwhar Sadat was controversial, the Egyptian Government opposed the filming of the movie, etc. First, I admired Sadat at the time that he had the courage to announce that he would travel to Israel when it seemed that such an event would never occur, and second, I have never fully comprehended the political environment which resulted in his assassination. Can anyone shed any facts on the movie itself including what controversies were involved in its production as well as the validity of the actual material contained in the movie. Has anyone seen this movie already? Or has anyone seen a review by what could be considered qualified critics? as ever, j.r. {allegra, seismo}!rochester!ritcv!jrc
