From uiucdcs!uok!lllenoir: [ I'm just curious Eli.. Where are you from anyway? If you are a guest in this great country I suggest that you act accordingly. L.L (U of OK) ] I don't know whether Eli is a citizen of the United States, but I believe it is one of the responsibilities of citizens of any country to be hospitable to peaceful visitors. Lionel, if you are a host in this great country, I suggest that you act accordingly. I believe that this IS a great country, based on a successful set of legal and ethical principles. However, no system is perfect--there are some aspects of ours that could benefit from a study of other countries. We should therefore welcome contact with representatives of other countries, for they may impart to us added knowledge and wisdom that grew out of different circumstances and environment. In order to form a more perfect Union, we must be willing to continue uniting, if even for only selfish reasons. There are other reasons for me, though. Dave Decot decvax!cwruecmp!decot

If you are a guest in this great country I suggest that you act accordingly. ---------- Since the message from Eli was posted from a Canadian site, this message was at the least inappropriate. In any case, telling people not to express themselves because they are guests is rude and counter to the whole purpose of groups like this, which is to stimulate discussions with a wide diversity of opinion. scott preece ihnp4!uiucdcs!uicsl!preece

Is it obvious to all that the person who may not be a citizen of this country may also not be living in this country? After all, isn't the USENET international? Let's not jump to conclusions. But anyway, he has a right to his opinions which I for one am just as glad to hear as those of any of the other keyboard jockeys on the net!
