************************************************************************** >My feelings is that if I don't want war, and I'm sure most of you >don't want war, of any kind, then why do we have wars???? >Population control?Egomania? An eye for an eye?HolyLand? Absolutely right! No one wants war (there are probably a few psychopaths who do but all cynicism aside, I doubt they have that much to say). The question I see is: "How badly don't you want it?" How much are you willing to put up with before you decide to fight? For example: If we REALLY don't want to fight a war with Russia, we COULD invite them to come in and take over our government--with our combined resources, I doubt that we would have to fight anyone else either if we did. Please, before you let your flames loose, look at what I said--can you deny what I said. Note that I DID NOT SAY that that was the ONLY way to avoid a war with the USSR. The point I'm trying to make is: Hardly anyone wants war but hardly anyone is willing to avoid it regardless of the cost. I doubt that a society that did avoid it at any cost would survive long enough to even get mentioned in the history books. I can't think of any--can anyone else??
