I don't think I would want to be in Jesse Jacksons' shoes right now. I heard an explanation of why a Black would be foolish to run or be elected to the Presidency from a prominent Black speaker a few years ago. What he said made a lot of sense at the time. The man had been asked if he would be interested in running for the Vice Presidency. He answered - No. When pressed for an explanation, he pointed out that if he were on the ticket with a white man, some fool Black would surely kill the President so that a Black could be President. Then, some damned red-neck would shoot me. He went on to explain that if a Black were President, with a white VP, the damned red-neck would shoot me first and the Vp would get it from the fool Black. It was a no win situation and he would not have anything to do with it. Since I can hardly believe that there was only one James Earl Ray out there, I think Jesse should be very cautious, especially when the weather begins to warm up. The psychos seem to become more active as the heat goes up. Futher, it is not only the red-necked bigots that have to be watched. There are some Blacks who consider Jesse a threat also. Remember Malcom X? He was the man who turned the phrase "burn, baby, burn" to "learn, baby, learn", but was murdered nonetheless, for daring to try and raise the social conscience of the people. T.
