[net.politics] CBS last Saturday evening: Who is Ly

I am not sure if the LaRouche you are referring to is the same LaRouche that
I have heard of... There is a man named LaRouche who is a retired US admiral
(I am not sure of which military arm). I know that he is very active in the
political realm of nuclear weapons and nuclear policy... and it seems that he
does have an "insider's" perspective of the Pentagon machine... well informed.

The retired admiral referred to is Eugene LaRoque and has nothing
whatsoever to do with Lyndon LaRouche. Thank you.

Re Lyndon LaRouche: I first heard of him in connection with the Fusion
Energy Foundation, an organization that deserves some inspection by
Martin Gardner in a second edition of *Science: Good, Bad, and Bogus*.

The FEF is a curious mixture of rationality (promoting fusion research
and blasting the anti-nuke cretins) and blithering bogosity in the
extreme (a bizarre interpretation of Plato, and a truly hilarious
theory of the Aristotelian Conspiracy (including Bertrand Russell and
the English police), how Aristotle's Law of Identity ("P is P")
shows how evil those Aristotelians really are, and how fusion reactions
show that this neo-Platonic theory of theirs is really something!).

Many thanx to all those who helped me out in my general confusion
about who/what Lyndon LaRouche is. I received maybe 6 mail replies,
and of course there was a half dozen or more articles explaining him
to me, so I now know who he is and how to avoid him, since I find
that I do not like his politics.

My major problem seems to have been my relative youth. I'm only 23,
so when LL was (semi-) big news in the late 60's and 70's, I wasn't
old enough to know what was going on. Anyway, now I know what's
going on. Thanx again.
