Is THIS is the reason for those ridiculous articles? I do hope that this is
not going to become the net.politics standard. I would like to think that we
can have rational discussions without an "insult" period beforehand.

This should not be suprising. I don't believe that direct personal attacks
belong in net.politics, and apparently a few other people agree. Cheap shots
and degrading insults may attract attention to the *author*, but they obscure
his point.

Disguised? Be serious. The article was signed. The writing styles aren't
similar. I don't see how Polli could have confused us. What's more, I think
he's doing it again. I think JJ may be right about the topsoil, but the
"Everyone-Will-Starve" argument is *not* my position, and never has been.

Actually, the fact that Polli hasn't said anything of substance on this issue
hasn't made any difference to me. I assumed it was because he didn't have
anything to say. Other people have said many intelligent things on the
subject, and I have found that much of this fits into my position. Now Polli
promises to review "my" position and respond to it. It will be interesting
to see if he says anything intelligent.
