Who is this person who keeps posting to the net using "uname" and

of the articles you have posted are so goofy in content, I don't
know if anyone will bother to reply.

..

If you wish to have a jury of your peers if YOU are tried, you must be
willing to serve jury duty. Most employers treat jury duty as paid leave.
If yours dosnt you should complain LOUDLY.

You want to be free from jury duty? In Illinois, it's pretty easy. All
you have to do is *not* be a registered voter. Then you don't get called.
Of course, then you can't vote. Too bad.

I'm not real sure if this is still how jury selection works, so no flames if
I'm wrong, OK? Just let me know.

Dear uname,

The choice is not between jury duty and travel overseas. It is
between jury duty and the right to a fair trial. If you are willing to
make that trade, then, it seems fair to me. We should add a line to all
income tax forms, right at the bottom.

1332e:	Check here if you wish to give up your
right to a free trial in exchange for
		exclusion from jury duty: _____

People like you could sign up for it. If you get charged with
a crime, we can lock you up, throw away the key, and not have to read your
silly entries to the net. Maybe the sentence should include forced labor.
That would make up for the tax revenues which would be lost because of
your absence from the labor force.

Silly, silly, silly.

Reagans state of the Union speech chided other countries that
build walls to keep their people in. Yet I believe the residents
of those countries have some freedoms we don't have. For example,
I would bet that their citizens who have done NOTHING against
the laws of their country don't have to be worried about being
forced from their homes and possibly locked up for days, or
even weeks. Thats NOT true here in the USA. Here its called
JURY DUTY.

I would be glad to give up my right to travel overseas in
exchange for freedom from jury duty.

If we can have an all-volunteer army, there is no reason
why we couldn't have an all-volunteer jury system. All they
have to do is make the pay reasonable.
