Well, it's election year again, and I've got two questions
that I'd like to put to the Illuminati on the net. :-)
These came up in private discussions and I found that I did
not know the answers, but I think the answers might be of
interest to all so please answer to the net ( At least,
I hope it's of general interest; and besides, I'm much
too lazy to summarize and post results... :-) ).
1. We all know that Reagan has influenced the increase
in military spending, and people have claimed he has caused
great spending cuts in other areas ( like education, welfare, etc.)
My question is : Has he really cut anything (specifically
where and what and how much) or has he cut an INCREASE in
spending (i.e. no real cut at all--- inflation has been so
low that even standing still is not much of a cut) ????
I have heard the news media say both -- there was a cut, but
then turn around and say there really was an increase, just
not as much as had been desired by proponents of the program
in question. Obviously, references would be desirable.
2. Gary Hart sounds like an interesting candidate and claims
new ideas, but I have never heard any of them. I understand
that he has written a book that is supposed to document his
views on a variety of subjects. Does anyone know exactly what
his new ideas are ?? Has anyone read his book ?? Comments ??
