A question for the supporters of Gary Hart and Jesse Jackson out there: Let's assume the following scenario: Mondale and Hart emerge from the primaries still in a neck-and-neck position, or perhaps with Mondale a bit ahead but short of a clear victory. Jackson arrives in San Francisco in a strong #3 position, commanding enough delegates to swing the nomination either way. Do you think that a Hart/Jackson ticket would be (a) possible or (b) desirable? Would the "Yuppies" (Ghod, but I hate that word!) represented by Hart and the minority/progressive coalition represented by Jackson be able to work together? What do you think of the strength of such a ticket against Reagan in November? I'm interested in people's opinions on this possibility (although I must admit that I'm not eager to read the flames of those who support neither Hart nor Jackson). --- Prentiss Riddle ("Aprendiz de todo, maestro de nada.") --- {ihnp4,seismo,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle

You might also ask how many believe it would be a neck and neck race to see who would be assassinated first. Think about it. If Hart died, Jackson would be the first black president; do the Black Panthers exist anymore? On the other hand, how long before a white racist took a shot at Jesse? Far and away too many crazies of all races out there. -- "Moe! Larry! Cheese! Moe! Larry! Cheese!" ihnp4!ihuxl!esj
