[net.politics] Richard Nixon

Jim,

I did not like Mr. Nixon's projected personality.

However, the theory our judicial system operates on is
that a person is PRESUMED INNOCENT until proven guilty
beyond a reasonable doubt.

In cases of slander and libel prosecution, the TRUTH is
always a defense. If Mr. Nixon wanted to sue some of us
on the net for Slander/Libel we would have the chance to
prove some of the allegations.

Technically, we who have publicly bad mouthed Mr Nixon
on the net are the "guilty" ones.

Accepting a pardon is not an admission of any guilt.

Lawyers on the net - is the above a true statement ?

READ MY LIPS DYER. WHAT LAW WAS BROKEN?

If you will read it again, WHAT LAW WAS BROKEN? I have never even
hinted that Nixon was a great President. You seem to have trouble
understanding what people are trying to tell you. Take off the blinders.
Why don't you just admit that you hate Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and probably
a dozen others. We would all understand where you are coming from then.
To mouth off with unsubstantiated claims about all of them is just as bad
as the things you purport to have taken place.

All you have given the net is a bunch of generalizations right out of
some poppycock book that you have taken to be the gospel. You don't
even have the good sense to read about your darlings and what has
been said in the last month. As for other parties than the two biggies,
your submissions have been right out of the Liberal Democratic textbooks.
If you claim to be something else, then why were you trying to register
as a Republican to vote for Anderson? Anderson was an Independent.

You claimed to have presented proof that Reagan lied. You gave no
such proof in that everything you presented was a generalization.
Stop grasping at straws and get your facts together before you spout
off your drivel and expose your lack of knowledge to half the free
world. Throw that little book you keep beside your bed away and
start thinking for yourself for a change. Read both sides of the
question.

However, since you seem to have such a closed mind on this subject,
no amount of pointing out the facts will change your attitude. I
suggest you go out and buy a towel and try to dry the wet behind
your ears. Come back in ten years when you have gained some insight
into what the hell everything is all about and I will gladly discuss
the subject.

It looks as unless there are startling developments in the next week,
TCW wins the nffubyr of the month award for the second time since the
beginning of the year. I believe this is a record.
