Yosi Hoshen's nonsense conspiracy theory that the Russians are behind the creationist crazies is so absurd that it warrants discussion only in terms of showing that liberals as well as right-wingers can get caught up in the simplicity of seeing all questions in the world in terms of an "evil empire". Be assured, Yosi, that all the problems in the world are do not emanate from Moscow. Be assured that most attacks on our liberties are very much home grown . We Americans are quite capable of creating own own problems, our own fanatics, our own insanities. To ascribe creationism, which is fundamentally a right-wing attack on the First Amendement, to a "Soviet Conspiracy" weakens the battle against it. There used to be a group conducting terror attacks in Italy which wanted to combine the Alta Adige, Tyrol, and Bavaria into one country. The group was fanatically right-wing and monarchist and was reputed to receive Soviet Funding. I believe their English name was the South-Tyrolian Liberation Front. -- Yehoyaqim Shemtob Martillo (An Equal Opportunity Offender)
