<....> Well, this all gets a bit silly, as people are arguing over the (non) definition of "flaming leftist". Terms such as this tend to be defined on a personal level. Many people might consider Ed Asner a "flaming leftist", many others a "liberal", perhaps a few "a reactionary" (not too many, though, I'd guess, at least in the US). So who would you consider (in the US) a "flaming leftist", Ken, since you consider E. Asner not to be one? Sam (no relation to "moderate"(?) Gus) Hall ucbvax!ucbtopaz!bitmap

Gus) Hall Angela Davis, your cousin and perennial socialist presidential candidate Gus of course, even Machinists' Union leader William Winpisinger. Hey, we can't forget former editor of the Daily Worker --and honest, folks, he's no relation, he even spells it differently --Victor Perlo. What they have in common is advocacy of some brand of class struggle. Winpisinger, a democratic socialist, is perhaps the most eloquent. -- *** *** JE MAINTIENDRAI ***** ***** ****** ****** 17 Jun 84 [29 Prairial An CXCII] ken perlow ***** ***** (312)979-7261 ** ** ** ** ..ihnp4!ihuxq!ken *** ***
