Reagan likes to have himself identified as a good, God-fearing Christian - which he might be occasionally in word but seldom in public action. Ferraro would like to get rid of the idea (stretching a bit) that people should vote for Reagan because he's a good Christian. She would also like to get rid of the idea that people should vote for her, or more likely against her (remember JFK) because she's Catholic.
