Just some ideas to start up new, hopefully interesting, conversation.
Reagan ("the bombing starts in five minutes")

I believe that Reagan says these types of things on purpose. However,
I don't mean that he actually wants to start bombing Russia. Reagan
is not that stupid. Not only would nukeing the Russians be politically
unpopular, it would also be hazardous to everyone's health. I think
that Reagan makes statements like these in order to maintain that
tough-guy image he has developed over the years in dealing with the
Soviets. I'm sure that Reagan believes that most people would not
take him that seriously when he says such things (sure, some people
will take him very seriously). But on the whole, no. I think that
people are infatuated with the idea of a very STRONG America which
doesn't get pushed around (by the Soviets, the Iranians, or anyone else).
