Who took my queue cards!?" Wall I heard a good explaination for this (assuming any one is really interested). The President wears a hearing aid. The reason he just stood there is because he didn't hear the question very well. (I think he said, "What?" the first time it was asked and the question was repeated. He still didn't hear it the second time.) Maybe he wasn't wearing the aid on his vacation or it wasn't turned up. I really don't blame Nancy Reagan for trying to avoid her husband's embarrasment. What bugs me is the way some people like to jump to such ignorant conclusions about a man's intelligence. -- Paul Dubuc {cbosgd,ihnp4}!cbscc!pmd The true light that enlightens every one was coming into the world... As long as we're discussing Reagan's comment about bombing the Soviet Union, I wanted to point out another frightening (?) comment by Reagan that I saw recently. About 10 days ago, I saw a news clip of Reagan and Nancy talking to reporters while on (yet another) vacation to S. California. A reporter asked Reagan what was being done to resume arms control talks with the Soviets. Reagan kind of stood there looking for some kind of an intelligent response (you won't find it in your head Ron!) and after about 5 seconds of silence, Nancy whispered to the President, "We're working on it". Then Reagan said, "We're working on it". Brilliant! At least Nancy's mind is still functioning! Seriously, it is frightening that Reagan couldn't even come up with anything to say. Even if he had ducked the question, that would be fine, but he just stood there in a state of confusion. This illustrates how really out of touch Reagan is with day-to-day goings on in the world. I simply cannot respect a wo/man who cannot even articulate his/her beliefs. I DO respect a wo/man who can articulate his/her beliefs, even if those beliefs are different than mine. Perhaps Reagan doesn't really know what his beliefs are unless they are on 5x7 inch queue cards. He certainly seems to do well when he's reading from queue cards. At least Mondull *seems* intelligent, although that's about all he has going for him..... Steve "Hey! Who took my queue cards!?" Wall ..!ucbvax!wall
