There is now a good book out about the KAL007 shootdown incident, called "DAY OF THE COBRA" by Jeffery St. John. St. John has won two EMMYs for television documentary programs, and has been a journalist and commentator for 25 years for Mutual Radio, CBS, Voice of America, and the Today Show on NBC. He writes a syndicated column called "Headlines & History," and writes for the Washington Times, the New York Times, the Philidelphia Enquirer, the Chicago Tribune, and the Los Angeles Times. The book is a detailed description of the entire KAL007 incident, why it happened, what happened, our response, their response, etc. He interviewed around 30 people, from George Shultz to the families of some of the victims, including Congressman McDonald's family and staff. This is a fascinating book, and I had the pleasure of having dinner with the author the other night after he was in Denver promoting the book. The book is in it's third printing, and is published by Thomas Nelson publishers in Nashville. You can get the book in your local bookstore or order from U.S. Times, 2300 Paseo Del Prado, Suite A-106, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89102. $12.95, and they will bill you. You can also call and order at 1-800-635-6402. This is one of the better books I've read in some time - get it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tom Buckley AT&T Information Systems ihnp4!drutx!trb
