Amir, If you think that the 'Opinion Makers' of the media put ideas into my head, then you don't read many of my articles to net.politics!! In fact, i try to get as wide a survey as i possibly can on what's going on in the world. I probably get a wider survey than you do. I read the papers, read news magazines, read Conservative and Liberal commentary magazines. I communicate extensively with foreigners and immigrants to the USA. I periodically browse thru Le Monde Diplomatique, I listen to Radio Moscow, the BBC, and short wave news from many other countries. I listen to the news on TV on the networks, on the independent channels, and on PBS. I listen to the interview shows and the debate shows. I often listen to a program which reviews the weeks news as reported in the press in other countries. When i lived in Europe, i read Swiss, French and English papers, and listened to Swiss and French news on TV. I had many, many long political discussions with foreign nationals in cafes across Switzerland and France. How do you compare with this? Who's less informed? I would like to get an even broader base of news and opinion than this. If you have some suggestions for me, please pass them on. (Please, only English or French language). What sources do you have for getting other slants to the news? sdcrdcf!alan p.s. I don't know what country you or your ancestors are from; can the people there get such a broad spectrum of news and opinions as i do here? My family is from Poland; the only people who get news worth listening to in Poland are those with short-wave radios. p.p.s. Please post your list of recommended news sources to the net. I am sure that i am not the only one interested.
