A correction. I went home last night and double checked my sources. It turns out that the Americans were to have two more A-bombs ready by mid-August. I was not able to find out one way or the other if these bombs would actually have been ready or not. The *impression* I got was that they would not have been ready on time, but the books I looked at were not specific.
