Q: What do the following two statements have in common?: 1) Walter Mondale won the first debate because he did better than everyone expected. 2) The San Diego Padres won the first game of the world series because they did better than everyone expected. A: They are of equal relevance. In other words, I'm a little tired of hearing all this talk of who "won" the debate.
