Some wag here referred to the elections as "The Evil of Two Lessers," and ultimately decided that the Republicans look good because they can reduce to world to a slice of pie. Hey, this is the eighties-no one wants to hear about all this complex stuff, deficit and all what we need is *leadership*...fascism with a friendly face. *Simple* answers. *Family* values. We'll bitch about the VAT when it comes. Ditto our incursions into Central America. We've got the evil empire on the run, and all we gotta do is just be *patient* until the recovery benefits all those minorities (women and the like).

How relevant is this quote?? You must recall that Walter Mondale served as vp under a president who held views much like his own. We have seen a Mondale-type president and we now have Ronald Reagan thus we have tried them both, but we still have the "lesser of two evils" dilemma. -sf- -- adios -sf-
