[net.politics] When in doubt, say something stupid

Can we start discussions that will serve a purpose here. Or is the net. just
an extension of the bathroom walls in the local bars.

We can do without names like fuzzy headed liberals, and quotes from BOZO the
clown (unless you were referring to the one in the white house -:).

Bruce,

Are discussions that will "serve a purpose" only ones with a liberal bias? I
didn't include the entire text of your message, but this reader got the
distinct message "I don't think any of the conservative articles are good for
anything besides ripping to shreads." And, by conversion, "Only liberal
articles are factual."

Perhaps it's just because you didn't make yourself clear.

I recommend you read an excellent article posted to net.politics a while back
[I just looked and can't find it--*sigh*] entitled ~"a common scenario" which
dealt with reading an article from the writer's point of view.

I'll agree "up front" that adjectives like "fuzzy headed" aren't particularly
appropriate to quasi-scholarly discussions, but neither is making a not-so-
veiled reference to President Reagan in "BOZO the clown," even if you *did*
have a smiley (?) face next to it.
