[net.politics] Congrats to the winning candidate's supporters

semreb@ih4ep.UUCP (Waz Nardbill) (11/07/84)

Congratulations to the supporters of the Reagan/Bush re-election
campaign. The "ME" generation has come through once again and bought, lock, stock and barrel, the "looking out for number one" theme of the Republican party.
You won and now we're all going to pay for it.

Admittedly, there is one positive aspect to the Reagan presidency: He has
motivated me to become politically active. I'm proud to have worked long and
hard on the Mondale/Ferraro and Paul Simon campaigns and I will remain active
to play a part, however small, to counter and defeat the policies of such an
unfair and damaging administration. You people won the battle but the war's
just starting.

The referenced article is an example of the divisive attitudes that
were generated by the Mondale/Ferraro campaign and a major reason I made
sure I voted against them.

GEE, I thought the "tax and spend, tax and spend" Democrats were
"looking out for number one." Just goes to show you how wrong a guy
can be.
