Not many ever hurt by a zip gun??? Ever hear of the 1950s. Most of the gang killing and maiming was done with the handy, dandy, pocket-sized, home-made Zip gun. It is very easy to make one. Simply rip the antenna off an automobile, saw off the bottom 5 inches or so, fasten it to a wooden handle, mount a clothes pin on one end, screw a metal screw through the clothes pin, put some extra rubber bands around the clothespin, put a 22 cal. shell in the tube and snap the clothespin. You can add refinements to keep from getting too much blowback, but they work. Now before everyone starts getting up in arms over this lesson in armemant manufacture, this description is printed in dozens of books and articles, including the New York Times. Don't say that zip guns are not very plentiful, they are. It is just too easy for criminals to aquire a weapon illegaly, so they do. No amount of control is going to stop them either buying a weapon or making one. Getting criminals off the streets should be the first order of business. Then we can begin to look into the problems of folks blowing each other away in a fit of pique. T. C. Wheeler (I don't care if something is spelled wrong.)
