[net.politics] Nancy Reagan

Rosalynn Carter was vilified in TIME magazine in 1979-80 for
being manipulative and power hungry and exerting influence over her
husband in matters of policy. Fair enough, nobody elected her.
So why is the same TIME putting Nancy Reagan on the cover and billing
her as Administration co-star for doing the same things?

BECAUSE they've done a hatchet job on Reagan these

last 4 years and now that they're stuck with the same overwhelmingly

popular guy for the next 4 years they'd like to patch things up a

little. That way he might give TIME an interview or two before he

leaves office.
