certain people on this newsgroup but let me present a FACT:
the actual murder rate on the subways last year was one
for 142 million trips (reported in New York Times)

How many people ride the NY subway daily. Is it over 14M? If
it is, then we can extrapolate your "Fact" to mean that each
and every day at least one person is killed by violent actions
on a NY subway. One life a day! Hay, what's one life a day!?
I guess that would depend on whose life it is.
Even one is too many!
