[net.politics] Cliff on drugs/reasons

jj@alice.UUCP (03/27/85)

<Let me point out that the "you" is not me, but I do want to make comment.
<Perhaps some of the problems associated with this discussion are directly
<related to the illegality of purchasing drugs (marijuana, hashish, heroin,
<cocaine, etc.). Quite possibly there will be no more than allusions to other
<knowledge in order not to draw attention to oneself. Not only is use illegal
<in most parts of the country, being associated with use can lead to employer
<investigations, etc.

OK. Let's be specific... My experience comes from past knowledge
(not illicit) from the law enforcement community. Frankly, I can't imagine
anyone who actually traffics writing an article on the net, simply
because of the usual mind-set of such individuals (well, I almost used
a different word than "individual", but...), but just because
I can't imagine that doesn't mean much.

Frankly, Cliff, statements like yours could lead to employer/legal
investigations of people, too. Perhaps you ought to consider that.
Perhaps you ought to consider that in 1973-4-5 one could have
likely gotten a warrant from your comments and the prior netnews articles.
(I don't know the climate that well today.)
