According to CBS news, last week a leader of a white supremacy group was arrested in the gangland style murder of a Denver talk show host by the name of Mr. Berg ( I'm not sure of the mans first name ). Mr. Berg was Jewish. It seems that these groups are allowed to practice freely in the United States of America. Is this the price that we must pay for free speech???? I am glad that Canada has laws which prevent the abuse of free speech. The price we pay is the fact that the Zundels of the world can't spread their form of racial hatred. I think that it's a price worth paying. Remember that Mr. Zundel was convicted of spreading hate literature BY A JURY OF HIS PEERS. In Paris last week, a bomb went off in a theatre that was hosting an International Jewish Film Festival. At this point in time, many people have been injured, three of them seriously. I am sure that many people believe that the Holocaust could never happen again. Don't believe it for a minute. According to the CBS news report, white supremacy groups in the US have grown in membership by 500% since 1979. The views of Mr. Black and others on the net ( supposedly a group of "educated people" ) also lead me to the conclusion that anti-semitism is on the rise in North America. What can be done? I suppose the elimination of racism would solve the problem.....however.....how can that be done? Jack Kesselman University of Waterloo
