The snow removal problem contributed to Jane Byrne's victory over
Michael Milandic(sp?), who succeeded hizzoner Richard Daley.

>Actually, this could have been a LOT worse politically, right?
>I mean suppose a black mayor had bombed a white neighborhood?

>Suppose a white mayor had bombed a rich white neighborhood.

Well, netters, let's have at it! What could be a better topic
than this one? It has everything. High racism potential (white
police commissioner in Philly), crime in the streets, rights of
individuals (MOVE) vs the city, police brutality, even foreign
policy (surely Pravda's made hay with this already).

60 homes burned. 45 quarts blood. Helicopter fu. "explosive device" fu.
Tunnel fu. Drive in academy award nominations for Wilson Goode and
the idiot who said, "Gee, we didn't know the bomb would cause a fire."

Joe Bob says, "Check it out, and don't forget the Nomex suits."
