Conflict grows within the Union of South Africa promising dramatic changes of some kind in the near future. Whatever results will affect the entire subcontinent of southern Africa: socialist and Cuba-allied Angola & Mozambique, leftward-leaning Zimbabwe, the disputed region of southwest Africa, Zambia. All these nations are economically dependent on the Union to a large extent, whether for access to ports, trade, etc. Some people may think it racist or insensitive to consider such strategic matters while the fight over apartheid and white rule rages, but does anyone know of thoughful and critical analyses of the likely scenarios for southern Africa? I'd appreciate any information received. Regards, Ron Rizzo
