Hawaii was quite an independent nation when we took it over. They had A
Queen who was overthrown by American Buisnessmen and Marines when she stepped
on there toes. One of those Buisnessmen was Mr Dole founder of Dole Corp.
The Queen (unfortunately I can't remeber how to spell her name) had a horrible
idea about getting more for the people of Hawaii out of the Americans like
taking some of their power and land away. What a terrible person she was for
wanting to do that. Grover Cleveland tried to give the govt back to her after
the coup but she wanted nothing less then the punishment of the Leaders of the
reveloution. Namely Dole and company but politcally Cleveland couldn't allow
that so he left those boys in charge and the created the Hawiian Republic
(which was an oligrachy of the buisnessmen) which then was taken over during
the Spanish American War for reasons of National Security. (Boy that pops up
a lot).

This sounds alot like Texas. I kind of can see why countries don't want
Americans to move in. Everytime we move into a country (Mexico and Hawaii)
we take them over. Remeber we stole 2/3 of Mexico's land in the great and
glorious Mexican War. You say we were attacked well it is kind of funny
that the guns they say were used by the Mexicans in raid couldn't have been.
Why you ask because the Mexican govt never had the money to buy the guns they
were to expensive. It was sort of on the same basis of what the Germans did
to Poland at the start of WWII. Of course we also stole all the Land
originally from the Indians.

I am not berating the US even though it may sound that way. The US has
a checkered past one were we have helped millions: WWII, faminine relief
and other numerous things. But as a nation we have also done some pretty
terrible things the wiping out of the Indians for one. I will say one thing
though of all the nations on Earth I am still glad to be in the one I am
so that I can talk about it both postively and negatively. For a nation
as a well as people only mature when they look at both their good and bad sides.
