[net.politics] Jewish history and Don Black

pickle@inuxn.UUCP (Greg Pickle) (09/25/85)

I just recently began reading net.politics and have been amazed
by the submissions of Don Black. His ignorance of Middle-Eastern
history is truly awesome, as is his anti-Semitism. I know from
experience that the views of someone like Black are deeply rooted
emotionally and are impervious to reason, but I guess he serves
a useful function in demonstrating what a hard-core anti-Semite
sounds like. It just surprises me that someone like him works
for DEC.

In recent articles Black refers to Israel as "the Israeli UN Protect-
orate". He also makes statements to the effect that the British
had no right to "give" Israel to the Jewish immigrants. This kind
of phraseology is a immediate indication of the mentality at work
here.

The British never "gave" the Jews Israel. The British were driven
out of what was then called Palestine by Jewish guerrilla activity,
economic realities, and world opinion. It is much more accurate to
say that the British did everything they could to prevent a Jewish
state.

The phrase "Israeli UN Protectorate" is a classic example of the
Big Lie technique. Again, the UN never "gave" Israel anything.
It called for the partition of Palestine, Israel itself was estab-
lished by Jewish blood. The UN didn't lift a finger to help.
Since that date it is more accurate to say that the UN has been
Israel's mortal enemy.

Last week I read an interesting population statistic. I had received
the current offering of the History Book Club. I don't remember the
title or author at the moment, but it was concerned with Jerusalem in
the 19th century. It mentioned that the population of the city around
1840 was 50 per cent Jewish. This strikes me as rather interesting
since most discussions of Israel tend to assume that the Jewish presence
in Palestine was minimal before the 1890s. Black seems to believe
that most Jews moved to Israel after enjoying their vacations in
those Nazi resorts most people call concentration camps.

I'm generally considered to be to the right of Attila the Hun by my
friends. It really burns me when a lunatic like Black smears the
Right with his drivel. And he admits to being a follower of "Christian
Identity". When I was in the monastery many fellow students thought
of Christ as a Marxist guerrilla, now people like Black apparently
think Christ was a Fascist. It's just utterly incredible what
people can believe.

Hey Greg,

even though DEC is our competitor..GET OFF THEIR CASE
Don Black may be a competent (fill in job title) no
matter how obtuse his politics. Concentrate on Black's
opinions and forget his employer. If you espouse unpopular,
illogical, or pure D mean ideas, YOU could get the same
unfair, martyr producing (please not that) treatment.
