``The Good Fight'' is an excellent new documentary on the Abraham Lincoln
Brigade in the Spanish Civil War, narrated by Studs Terkel.
There are excellent battle clips, interviews with surviving male and female
survivors of the war, and a presentation of a facet of our history that
few are aware of. Of the 3200 volunteers, about half were killed in Spain.
This has to be one of the highest casualty rates of any US unit of comparable
size in history.
``The Good Fight'' documents how the Western `democracies' were all
unwilling to aid the Spanish republic, invoking a policy of `nonintervention'
which in reality involved active measures to prevent volunteers from going
to Spain.
Highly recommended.
