[net.politics] The savings rate - consumer

jj@alice.UUCP (11/13/85)

Well, Tim, perhaps the reason people aren't saving money
is because they know that when we get another Democratic
Administration, whose economics have been shown by their
performance time and time again to be WRONG, the resulting
25% inflation rate will make their savings worthless (again).

I know that it's clear to me that until we have a political
party in this country that believes in both freedom and
sound financial policy (we're leaving all the major and minor
parties out here, I think) we're not going to have any savings
by the consumer, because the consumer isn't that stupid.

Enough said?

JJ

Depressions are bad indeed. Inflation is noting but a
depression with renormalized figures, when you get down to it.
