Politician by the name of Halter Was indignant that Facts wouldn't alter. He did huff - he did puff - Still it wasn't enough - Still they stood like the Rock of Gibraltar. Un-amused by this stubborn position, He imposed on the facts Inquisition. All you say may be true - Quoth he - what else is new ? It can still lead *small minds* to sedition. Since that time, like a diligent sleuth, He went dogging the steps of the Truth, To detect an allusion, Which might lead to conclusion, Which might spoil some susceptible youth. This, my children, is no way to act . Let your confidence in Truth be intact. Just remember: opinion Should be free; but dominion Should belong to the Sovereign Fact ! Jan Wasilewsky

I am truly impressed by not just your cleverness but also your esthetics, although I of course regret that it was employed in the service of libel. -- Jim Balter (ima!jim)
