[net.politics] Intolerance on all sides

mahoney@bach.DEC (12/08/85)

Since I responded to an article which I thought was highly prejudical
and still do I have been called a few names and told that I was ignorant.
I take many of these comments with a grain of sand since I have many times
been called a Nazi communist liberal conservative whatever name suited the
person at the time. My article of response offended some people and I
apologized that was when I was called ignorant. I ask the people on the
net to think about what they are saying before the post it.

I was called ignorant because I said that Jews instigated many of the
early attacks on Christians. Well Mr Martillo look at any history of the
early Christian Church and you will see that this is true. As I said
in my apology I only meant to bring balance to the original
posting. I do not feel that name calling casting doubts on somebodys
family or intelligence is neccesary if you disagree fine but do not
name call it takes away from the argument. I believe that when I posted
I said the article was racist and prejudical and not you.

The naked intolerance and hatred put forth in your article and
articles that have followed are no different from that put forth by
Don Black. The garbage articles that are infesting this net I feel
should stop. It is up to the individual of course to stop it and I ask
you to think before you post another article. Is your article just
blindly lashing out at an entire group of people or are you going after
the people truly at fault. I feel this is a very important question
and a neccesary one. There is only one true weapon that will stop
what is going on in the world and that is Love. Many people have
died for it such as Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.. There ideas have
not been stopped though if anything they have become stronger.

As Kahlil Gibran said in the book The Prophet

"When you love you should not say "God is in my heart" but rather
"I am in the heart of God""

When you post about a group of people ask yourself if this is how God
would think.
