Here are a few things which have been on my mind, but were not worth individual postings: 1. Don Black was censored in a most distasteful fashion. I personally find his view of the world objectionable, but I will defend to the death his right to present it. Using pressure on his employer is dirty, dirty pool. 2. The notion that the Russian word for deterrence translates to intimidation is not strictly correct. The Russian idiom for "strategic deterrence" is sderzhevania putem ustrashania, which literally means "containment through intimidation". 3. If you don't like the ads for TechNICA, see my recent posting in net.misc. I give the address for an american organization which supports the other side: Friends of the Americas 912 N. Foster Drive Baton Rouge, LA 70806 toll free (800) 446-5000 4. Don't assume you know my political views from my postings. From them, you could conclude either that I am a radical leftist or an extreme conserv- ative. Neither is correct. Mark Thorson (...!cae780!weitek!mmm) She takes the podium as thousands watch in person, millions on television. The expected sentence is read: death. A hush settles over the audience. Strong hands clasp her shoulders. She shrugs them off and in defiant tones that will ring through the centuries shouts "Long live the Revolution!" Her arrogant response send the crowd into hysterics. The hands once again grip her firmly. She is taken away, never to be heard from again.
