The Jews captured the land of Canaan from 7 idol-worshipping nations (arabs did NOT exist yet, back then). These 7 nations do NOT exist any more. Therefore the Jews were FIRST to live in the region called Israel (now) AND the part of the region called jordan (now). The Jews were the Indians 2000 years ago, but now they are not. Also it is a recognized fact that History moves much faster now than it did 2000 years ago. (Don't ask me to show this, just think a bit) so a few decades are to be considered sizeable periods.
