After reading some of the comments about Marcos and Ms. Marcos, I wonder who was running the country. It was Ms. Marcos who ran (for the assembly) against Aquino, and Ms. Marcos who is now trying to get the US to "allow" her to take ove the government now that the family has fled to Clark AFB. The response from the US wasn't very detailed, but was clearly not exactly enthusiastic. From the look of things, Corazon Aquino will be recognized as the head of the government soon. It's about time. Gee. Duvalier and Marcos within 3 months. This could be a nice year!
