David Brinkley's comment at the end of _This Week with David Brinkley_ was rather interesting. He suggested the French had knew how to handle heads of state whose time had past, and complete with historical precedents. The gist of the commentary was this: just as the French sent Napolean to St. Helen's for exile, they should send Baby Doc Duvallier and Ferdinand Marcos there, too. During the day they could raise pigs, grow sweet potatoes, "and count the interest on their Swiss bank accounts. At night, they could sit back, play gin rummy, and see who could cheat the best." No offense intended to the French, the Swiss, residents of St. Helens, or pig raisers, sweet potato farmers, or honest gin rummy players. -- Steve Daniels (!pyuxh!sdd) "I'm counting the smiles on the road to Utopia."

St Helen's sounds like the "Fletcher Memorial Home for colonial wasters of life and limb".
