The fact that the US exists, and does these things, and (to an adequate extent) shares the benefits of having them with Canada, makes it unnecessary for Canada to get involved with this sort of thing (at least as deeply as the US does). As for the FBI, it was my impression that the RCMP performs equivalent functions under the Canadian system. Will Martin
