I certainly agree with the facts, but disagree with the conclusion.
Ronald Reagan has always been a very loyal individual - loyal to his
friends. Marcos is/was a good friend of Reagan's. While I strongly
believe that his taste in friends is terrible (let's not forget
Rev. Falwell, for one), I would not call him a "pathological" liar.

He was forced to betray a personal friend. He's pissed (He's also
stupid, and a lousy politician in this case). But he is not a
pathological liar - merely :-) an intermittant one.

As Barry Shein said - how come when Reagan says one thing and does
another, I get angry at both?

Ever since 1980, I've been appalled that most people are UNABLE to
see that Reagan is NOT like other politicians. "Skilled,
manipulative, controlled liars" do NOT deny their lies when they're
busted; they make up new lies to explain the exposed ones.

And yet, just recently, the White House denied that Reagan called
the press "sons of bitches" even though the press has this on tape!
This denial of the truth is not skilled or controlled; it is
complacent in its opinion of the public as a gullible, unquestioning
mass. It is a despicable attempt to twist people's perception of
reality. It also makes SOME of us doubt anything we hear coming
from the White House.

I admit I have an obsessive hatred of Reagan. He represents the
worst kind of oppression - the oppression of thought. The fact that
he is in office demonstrates the success of 1984-like mind control.

When the election returns were coming in in 1980, there was a news
story about creationism. A boy was complaining that his school was
teaching evolution. A reporter asked him, "Do you believe that man
evolved from apes?" I thought to myself, "Do you believe Ronald
Reagan is president?" :-) Think about it.

Right on, Tim! ihnp4!iham1!krista

P.S. It's embarrassing to admit to being from Illinois. I confess I
did not vote. Now we've got Larouchian candidates. From now on I'd
better pay more attention to state and local events. I hate
politics, but these crazy or unscrupulous people will never let us
rest.
