Cider Seminar Series Part CXLVIII Music Synthesis by Simulation Using a General-Purpose Signal Processing System By John Kitamura Room GB 244 Time: 12:05 Date: Friday August 16th, 1985 Abstract A flexible system has been built with pro- grammable digital signal processors (DSPs) ca- pable of performing a variety of different real-time algorithms and which utilizes a re- cently designed architecture that is extendi- ble for multiprocessor applications. This device is modular and expandable and en- courages experimentation with new methods of computation-intensive music synthesis which previously could only be realized with, special-purpose high-speed hardware. This seminar is actually a presentation of a paper to be given at the International Computer
