From the Computer Science Library Committee ------------------------------------------- BUYING NEW BOOKS AND JOURNALS Despite the general cutbacks in book acquisitions and journal subscriptions by the U of T library system, the Computer Science Library is looking for suggestions for new books and journals to buy. The CS literature is burgeoning, and the Library must keep its collection up to date. Library users are therefore requested to let us know when they come across a new book or journal that they think they library should buy. Given our limited resources, it is important that we spend our money on what people in the Computer Science department and other related disciplines want. Please give your requests to the Librarian. (Of course, we cannot promise that every requested item will be purchased.) On the new-arrivals shelf in the library there is a box containing sample issues of a number of CS journals that have started up over the last year or so. You are invited to look through it, and let the Librarian know which of them you would like us to subscribe to.
